Happy Birthday Tutorial

Happy Birthday is easily the most requested song I’ve ever played! And I make sure that every one of my students knows how to play it, even the youngest beginners. Why?

If people know that you play the piano, and you happen to be within a stone’s throw of a piano or keyboard, and it happens to be someone’s special day, you can bet that you’ll get a tap on the shoulder. So, why not be prepared?

I made this tutorial for a fairly easy version that sounds a lot more fancy than it actually is. Breaking the song down into 4 sections, I teach you how to play each hand by itself, then combine the two hands.

Take a look, practice it over several days, and let me know how you’re progressing.

You can also get the sheet music here.

Have fun!
